Explore Deer Lake Outdoor Center’s trails. Along our 8.7-mile trail network, you’ll find forests, wetlands, lakes, vernal pools, glacial erratics, impressive rock formations including our famed Fat Man Squeeze, signs of our colonial past, and more! Connecticut Forest & Park Association’s Chatfield Trail also passes through on its way north through Cockaponset State Forest, Forster Pond State Park, and Chatfield Hollow State Park offering nearly 20 more miles to explore.
Trails are open from dawn to dusk. Parking is free, there are no fees, and registration is not required to use the trails (organized groups, please contact us in advance). See our full day-use policies for more information.
