Day Camp Counselor

The most important position at Deer Lake Day Camp! Day Camp Counselors work in a team with a co-counselor, and occasionally a CIT (Counselor in Training). They’re paired with a group of children each camp session to ensure every camper remains safe and has a great time at camp.

Lifeguard

Lifeguards are responsible for the safety and wellbeing of campers while at the waterfront. All campers at Deer Lake Day Camp visit the waterfront twice a day, once for swim lessons in the morning and again in the afternoon for free swim.

Skill Area Director

Skill area directors introduce campers to swimming, archery, nature, wilderness challenge, arts & crafts, rowing, or canoeing.  They present a fun and interesting presentation that is age-appropriate to each group.

Wilderness School Facilitator

Wilderness School is for high school aged youth.  As a Wilderness School Facilitator, you will guide these young adults through week-long programs involving rock climbing, challenge courses, canoeing, backpacking, and more.  You’ll spend two days with the crew in camp and then venture out for 3 days and two nights on the trail.

Assistant Director for Day Camp

The Assistant Director for Day Camp works hand-in-hand with the Camp Director to oversee all camp activities at Deer Lake Day Camp (Kindergarten – 8th grade).  You will help organize children into crews, assign counselors to each crew, schedule program area times, communicate with families, mentor camp staff, and more.

Assistant Director for Wilderness School

The Assistant Director for Wilderness School works hand-in-hand with the Camp Director to oversee the Wilderness School program (grades 9-12).  You will help organize crews, plan trek itineraries, manage food budgets, and ensure each participant has a safe and unforgettable experience.  The Assistant Director for Wilderness School also commonly serves as a Wilderness School Facilitator.
